Soon to be featured by ASCAP as a “Composer to Watch”, Zev Burrows is a composer for film, musical theatre, television, and production music libraries. He received his Bachelor of Music from Berklee College of Music, and has composed the scores for numerous projects, including the award-winning animated short film “Fox Tale”, directed by animator Doosun Shin, and the Directors Guild of America award-winning short film “Absent“, directed by Sudarshan Suresh. He is a graduate of the ASCAP/Columbia University Film Scoring Workshop, the BMI Composing For The Screen Workshop, and the NYU Summer Scoring Workshops, and most recently completed courses at the Dramatists Guild Musical Composition Master Class with Tony Award-winning composer/lyricist Mark Hollmann, and the Society of Composers & Lyricists Mentorship Program. He resides in New York City, and is the composer for the new musical “Swagger” (book & lyrics by Mark Evan Chimsky).
In addition to his film and musical theatre work, Zev is also a contributing composer for Velvet Green Music, a brand new production music library in Santa Monica, where he contributes regularly to several different genres of underscore, and was the featured artist for May 2017. He also regularly composes original music for Mibe Music in collaboration with Emmy-nominated composer Max Surla.
